We received a grant to involve 40 smaller manufacturing companies from the Hudson Valley Region in an ISO9000 Certification program that includes the following: Education: Executive Overview Documentation Control Training Records Purchasing Records Lead Assessor Training Internal Auditor Training Assessments: Initial Gap Assessment Second Party Assessment (prior to engaging a reistrar) Monthly User Group Meetings Hands On Support: Access to equipment calibration services ""materials analysis" ""data collection " On-line services: Membership in ExceLink, a computer mediated network for smaller manufacturers that provides members with access to 4 basic services; e-mail, information databases, Bid/supplier database matching and on-line education. Other on-line tools include registrar lists, audit do's and dont's, documentation templates, ISO9000 bulletin board, ASK ISO Expert Facility and an on-line Employee Awareness module for ISO9000. Our funding limits us to the Hudson Valley region at this time, however, this model can easily be set up in other areas.
