ALTERNATIVE REGISTRATION SYSTEM READY FOR TEST
An alternative to the present third-party system for ISO 9000 registrations will be tested later this year on an undisclosed number of companies. In a February 10 memo to interested parties, proponents of the controversial Supplier Audit Confirmation (SAC) route stated : "WE believe that the SAC route is now sufficiently developed to serve as a basis for a pilot program between a supplier and a registrar.
