| AN INVESTIGATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ISO 9000 AND TQM AND THEIR RELATIONSHIPS IN TURKEY Ahmet Beskese and Ufuk Cebeci This study aims (i) to investigate the current situation of the implementation of TQM and ISO 9000 among the Turkish companies, (ii) to understand the extent to which the concept of TQM is used by those companies which have an ISO 9000 certificate, and (iii) to compare these results with those from other countries. A cross-sectoral and cross-regional questionnaire survey was conducted to collect primary data. Through the survey, an extensive amount of data about company characteristics and various factors pertaining to the implementation of TQM and ISO 9000 was collected. Some of these facts include such items as industry type, company size, the percentage of export in total sales, the ownership of an ISO 9000 certificate, the reasons for having a certificate, the change in the organization since acquisition of this certificate, difficulties in obtaining the certificate, any disappointments after the certification, and the time and monetary cost of obtaining the certificate. Collected data was analyzed by using standard statistical methods. | Back Issues of this newsletter are

If you were to poll your principal clients and ask for their top five criteria for using your services, quality (and all it entails, like product performance and consistency of delivery) would certainly rank among them - not infrequently, outperforming price. | ISO 9000:2000, The New Standard Click Here for your ISO Roadmap CD atSystemcorp |
