QP-HEALTH Email Discussion List

A list for discussion of Quality-related Issues for Professionals in 
Healthcare.

Discussions should revolve around topics such as the dimensions of quality 
as defined by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare 
Organizations, medical ethics, competency, internal and external customer 
satisfaction, multi-disciplinary and cross-functional approaches to 
process assessment and improvement, utilization of statistical process 
control and quality tools, integration of Deming's 14 points into 
healthcare organization culture, and achieving and measuring continuous 
quality improvement.


Posting Rules

This is an open posting list. General rules follow:

1. Use the "Subject:" line to identify your topic.

2. Be concise and get to the point; wandering around the topic is not 
illuminating to anyone and wastes everyone's bandwidth.

3.(a) If you're responding to a previous post, be sure to QUOTE a portion of 
the previous message. Not all subscribers may have been on the list when 
the original message appeared; if you don't give them some idea what 
you're talking about, you'll deserve the flames you'll get.
  (b) The ratio of "quotes" to "response" should be about 1:1. Please 
PLEASE learn to edit judiciously and not quote lengthy messages just to 
tack on your own "I agree" line at the bottom. Those who do so will also 
deserve the flames they'll get.

4. If someone asks for responses in PRIVATE email, please respond in 
private. There is also no need to burden everyone on the list with 
irrelevant interpersonal chit-chat. 

5. When discussions wander too far off topic, the List Content 
Administrator may ask everyone to move it to private email. Please honor 
that request; if you don't, you may find yourself unsubscribed from the 
list. This is not an anarchic list; this is a benevolent dictatorship. 
Please behave yourself accordingly.
