Coronavirus update from the CQI

Progress indicator

As the Covid-19 pandemic cements itself as a significant global threat, the implications are apparent for organisations of all sizes. The CQI has taken steps to protect its staff, members, partners and volunteers during this crisis.

The CQI have temporarily closed its London and Tokyo offices following the UK Government’s advice on the coronavirus. The health and safety of our staff, members, partners and volunteers is our main priority and we have put the following measures in place:

  • Our CQI and IRCA Japan staff are now working remotely until further notice. However, we will do our utmost to operate a business as usual service and maintain a high level of support for our customers and partners.
  • We have suspended all in person meetings, which include those run by committees and working groups, until further notice.
  • The best way to contact us is via email, so if you have a query please get in touch with our London office or our Tokyo office. You can still call us but there may be a delay in our responding to you.

For a detailed breakdown of how we’re working with our Approved Training Partners, who to contact if you’re an IRCA certificated auditor due to recertify, updates on our planned events for 2020, and more, visit www.quality.org/news/coronavirus-and-cqi.

Speaking about the changes, Vincent Desmond, CQI CEO, said: “The CQI continues to follow developing guidance on the COVID-19 virus to play our part in safeguarding health and minimising risk. All decisions regarding business operations and events are being taken in line with government guidance and public health advice. I want to reassure you that we have robust and agile plans in place to support the wellbeing of our staff, our members and volunteers, and the wider community that we serve, for all of whom the current situation is challenging both personally and professionally.”
