Configuration Management (CM) Internet Discussion Group
-------------------------------------------------------

The CM Internet Discussion Group is intended to provide configuration
management professionals and those interested in CM a forum to exchanges
ideas and information.

The main objectives of the CM Internet Discussion Group are to:
     -  retrieve the latest information on CM requirements
     -  dialogue with others on changes to the CM requirements.
     -  have a forum for asking CM application questions.
     -  be advised of CM related seminars and workshops.
     -  be kept abreast of job opportunities in the CM/DM/QA fields.

This discussion group is supported by the Configuration Management Working
Group (CMWG) of Metro Washington, DC. and open to anyone. We welcome all
comments, information and ideas!!

Mission Statement 
-----------------
 
The Configuration Management Working Group is a volunteer organization
dedicated to the education, information dissemination and networking of
Configuration Management Professionals.

Group Objectives
----------------

The group was formed in 1992 to provide information and networking
opportunities for area professionals. The meetings are held every other month
and consist of guest speakers, demonstration of tool and techniques and
general discussion and group interactions. 

The main objectives of the group are to:

    - provide up-to-date information on CM requirements.
    - evaluate and comment on CM requirement modification.
    - discuss proposed changes to CM requirements.
    - participate in certification study groups.
    - input into and support ongoing studies on CM techniques.
    - network for employment opportunities for both employees and
       employers.

Local Membership Requirements
-----------------------------
Currently the only membership requirement is to be placed on the mailing
list.  You do not have to be a member to participate. There is a charge for
meeting attendance.
 
When Does the Group Meet?
-------------------------
 
The group meets every other month, typically on the third Wednesday
of the month, in the Northern Virginia area, depending on the availability of
the speaker(s).
