My name is Jan Arnow and I am a consultant, speaker, workshop designer/leader in the field of human rights. Currently, that heading encompasses a range of issues, including (but not limited to): Multiculturalism and diversity (for education, corporations, communities, etc.); Gender equity/sexual harassment; Cross cultural communication; Violence abatement; Prejudice reduction; Compassion fatigue; Conflict resolution and mediation. I have recently completed a book -- Teaching Peace: Raising Children to Live in Harmony Without Fear, Without Prejudice, Without Violence -- published by Putnam and due on bookstore shelves September 1995. In the 1980s, I established the Institute for Intercultural Understanding in Louisville, Kentucky, an organization for which I am involved nationally and internationally in projects which encourage understanding among diverse cultures. Under my direction, the Institute has been working for nearly a decade on an international program titled Voiceless Victims, a project documenting the effects on children of conflict, violence and war through their art and poetry. On a more personal note, I have two dogs, two cats, two rats, three brats and a tarantuala, along with a rather bizarre sense of humor. If anyone is interested in seeing my psychodramatic introduction (what it *feels* like to be me) let me know! ------------------------------------------------------------- Jan Arnow, Director; Institute for Intercultural Understanding 2025 Maryland Ave. Louisville KY 40205 USA Phone and fax: +1 502 454 0607 email: jarnow@iglou.com "Though I am different from you, we were born involved in one another."
