I am happily married, have a sweet daughter who is five, and a grown son from a previous life who is now traveling through the US. I live in a small cottage on the shores of Cayuga Lake (one of the Finger Lakes) near Ithaca, New York. In addition to helping individuals and organizations improve, I enjoy being with my family, sailing, walking, and staring out the window. I have been providing organizational consulting and training for over twenty years, but in January 1995 I left "the ivory tower" to start my own business, called Constructive Change. I have consulted with and trained people from all walks of life, from executives to the unemployed, from deans to dropouts, and from diverse racial and cultural back-grounds. My clients include businesses, private and public agencies, boards of directors, school systems, and colleges and universities. I also have a private practice as a psychotherapist for individuals, couples, and groups. I am also active in community volunteer efforts, and on boards of directors. I have taught and worked at both Syracuse and Cornell Universities. At Syracuse, as Director of Academic Counseling, I developed a peer counseling program, a career counseling program, and a special program for students who were failing. At Cornell, I was Director of Psychological Services, Human Resources Consultant and Trainer, and Assistant Dean of Students for Counseling and Training. While at Cornell, I created "Dear Uncle Ezra", an innovative on-line information, advising, and counseling service which received national attention in The Wall Street Journal, on National Public Radio, and recently in Newsweek. It is now being copied by colleges and universities around the country. To see "Dear Uncle Ezra" point your www browser to http://www.cornell.edu/ or gopher to //gopher1.cit.cornell.edu:70/11/.dirs/ZC As a teen, I was an exchange student in Japan. This had a significant impact on my view of the world and the effect of differences. I graduated from Allegheny College with a B.A. in psychology, then served as a Special Agent in the Army. At Syracuse University I earned his M.A. in student personnel administration and Ph.D. in counseling. My doctoral research examined the differential impact of skill trainings. Professional memberships include the American Management Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Society for Training & Development, and the American Counseling Association. I recently learned about ASQC, in part through your home page on the WWW, and I joined ASQC after attending a meeting of the local ASQC Chapter 210. It's great to find colleagues in my neighborhood. My career has been devoted to helping people make constructive changes. This organization will help me be even more successful. I'm glad to join this community. _______________________________________________________ Jerry Feist, Ph.D. Constructive Change Human Resources Consulting & Training 9345 Kingtown Beach, Trumansburg, N.Y. 14886-9235 jf19@cornell.edu Voice: (607) 387-3650 Fax: (607) 387-3625 ===========================================================================
