Levy" Subject: Introduction I am a new list member, so I thought I'd give other members a little background on myself and my business. My consultancy, ChinaCorp, is based in Taiwan and China, two of my adopted homes. (I'm originally from New Jersey). We started ChinaCorp 3 years ago, and we offer liaison and various business support services for US and European companies with business interests in our region. My personal background is in the performance and international sales of business information services, and have been employed by various U.S., Australian, and European firms in this capacity. In addition, we also assist local companies in their quest to internationalize via market expansion, international sourcing, upgraded communication methods, and the establishment of a corporate identity. In summary, all of our services, whether marketed locally or overseas, are centered around information and communication. Our biggest problem, here, is to differentiate ourselves from the thousands of brokers out in the market-- we charge for our services, which are intended facilitate partnering by lowering costs, lowering risk, and improving direct communications. Many of the brokers are out to protect their commissions on individual "deals" by impeding communications. We have other divisions that do other things, but as this message is getting too long, I will leave them for another day or another list. Rgds David J. I am a recent graduate of the University of Michigan. While at the UNiversity I studied psychology with a concentration in Organizational Psychology. After spending last Fall working on a political campaign, I have returned to my alma mater where I am working as an organizational consultant within the division of student affairs. In early June, I will be looking for a new position and am researching consulting as one of my possible avenues. As many of the people on this list have a considerable amount of experience, I would appreciate any feedback or advise about how to get into the field of consulting. Looking forward to continued discussion!
