A working group of about 45 persons met in Washington, DC, to expore further the vision, mission, and objectives of the Q * C.

In the interests of being inclusive, the following represents an unedited draft of the summary results of the group's efforts. We want your input,so please comment back directly to the contacts noted below.

Vision:

Consistent quality with highly satisfied stakeholders in the globally competitive built-environment.

Mission:

Achieve implementation of a value-added ISO 9000 based quality management system for the benefit of partners within the built-environment.

Objectives:

  1. Promote industry-wide understanding of the ISO 9000 QA Models.
  2. Indentify/engage stakeholders ( owners, etc.).
  3. Develop strategic implementation framework.
  4. Improve the ASQC Design & Construction Division's Interpretative Guide, First Edition, April 1995.
  5. Identify/overcome institutional barriers.
  6. Define/enhance the Q * C structure.
  7. Encourage Compliance.
  8. Measure and report application outcomes.
  9. Recognize/promote success.
