Bill Hayden is President of William M. Hayden, Jr. Consultants, Inc., an independent firm specializing in TQM consulting exclusively to leading design and construction firms in North America.
Since 1986, Bill Hayden has guided the senior management of A/E/C firms through the implementation of TQM.
From Miami to Vancouver, and for firms ranging in size from 30 to 5,500 employees, Bill has translated the teachings of quality experts from the manufacturing world into a TQM implementation roadmap especially prepared for professional services firms.
Bill's customized TQM presentations focus on the unique needs of the design and construction industry. His services include initial quality assessment consultations; ongoing guidance in implementing and improving a successful TQM process, and providing workshops on Partnering for Project Quality (tm).
A frequent speaker and writer on effective quality management, Bill is a member of the ASQC Standards Committee and is a U.S. TAG reviewer on ISO/TC 176 on Quality Management, Quality Assurance and Quality Systems. His is a former chairman of ACEC's Quality Improvement Committee and is a certified ACEC peer reviewer. He is also a co-chairman of the preconference TQM workshop for the 1995 ASCE Education Conference Committee.
Bill holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, NY, and is an elected member of Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers as well as a member of the American Institute of Constructors and a co-founder of both the Design and Construction Quality Institute and the Design and Construction Division of the American Society for Quality Control.
