ISO9000-3

The special focus of this email discussion list is ISO 9000-3 (1991), 
Part 3:  Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001 to the development, 
supply and maintenance of software. 

There are ample lists for the more general aspects of ISO 9000. If you 
are not especially interested in ISO 9000-3, this may not be the list for 
you.

This is an unmoderated list. If circumstances warrant it at a later 
point, it may be converted to a moderated list. If you are subscribed at 
that point, you will not need to resubscribe. Notice will be provided if 
the list is to be converted to a moderated one.

All postings should be directed ONLY to the List Posting Address, at:

Here are some posting guidelines and other relevant information:


1. Keep your postings ON TOPIC. If what you have to say isn't related to 
ISO 9000-3 or to a previous poster's message, it probably doesn't need to 
be posted here.

2. If you're responding to someone else's post, be SURE to quote enough 
of the previous post, so that newcomers to the list will have sufficient 
context for your commentary. Try not to quote the ENTIRE previous 
posting, but just enough that we'll all know what you're referring to.

3. Stay polite. If you want to cast aspersions on someone's reputation, 
personality or occupation (or anything else), deal with one another OFF 
THE LIST. Your postings should deal with ISSUES relating to ISO 9000-3, 
not personalities.

4. Be sure to sign your postings with your return email address. Some 
mailers cut off the headers, so folks who might want to respond in 
private will not be able to.

5. No COMMERICAL solicitations or advertising is permitted here. You may 
mention products in the context of other related commentary.

6. No "me, too", "I agree" or "send me one" (or similar) messages should 
be posted to the list. If you must "verbalize", contact the person or 
offering party in PRIVATE email. Let's save the bandwidth for relevant 
discussion.

Digests are generated after 25K of messages have accumulated, so in the 
beginning of the list, you may not get them very often. As the number of 
participants increases, so should the number of digests generated. We 
will then revisit the threshhold number and tweak the size at which 
digests are generated and sent.
