Entries flood in for the CQI International Quality Awards

Progress indicator

The awards have gained momentum worldwide since its launch in May.

In May the CQI launched the inaugural International Quality Awards, in association with headline partner DNV GL, to recognise the contribution of quality professionals across the globe. Since then, the awards have gained momentum worldwide. The deadline for submissions was 31 July and we are pleased to announce we received entries from over 28 countries, including Canada, Germany, Italy, India, Egypt, Nigeria, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and South Korea.

Estelle Clark, CQI executive director — policy, said: “We’re more than delighted with the number of entries, especially as we have so many submissions from people outside of the UK, including from countries where the CQI has quite a small presence. This shows us we were right in our thinking that quality professionals all over the world would see the importance of explaining how the job that they do adds value to their organisation.”

Clark is one of 13 panel judges who will bring their extensive industry experience to the rigorous selection process. She is chairman of the Technical and Advisory Board of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), a member of the Policy Advisory Council of the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS), and a steward and director at hydrogen car start-up Riversimple.

The awards span six categories: Quality Professional of the Year (in association with E-Squared); Emerging Talent Award (in association with Tideway); Leadership Award (in association with Leonardo); Quality Team of the Year (in association with Catalyst Consulting); Quality Professional in a New Project (in association with Jaguar Landrover); CQI Achievement Award (in association with Shirley Parsons).

From 1 August until mid-September, judges will be reviewing applications and will shortlist applications for each award category. The awards ceremony will take place on 22 November at the historic Merchant Taylors’ Hall in the City of London, supported by our reception partner Qualsys.

The event will be a unique opportunity to network with your peers from across the globe and gain valuable insight into best practice from the winners. Tickets are limited.
