The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Board of Trustees today confirmed Vincent Desmond as CQI Chief Executive with overall responsibility for the delivery of the institute’s strategy and day-to-day operation.

I am delighted to be taking this role at such an exciting time, and look forward to building on this momentum especially as we look towards our centenary year in 2019 and beyond.

Vincent Desmond, CQI CEO

CQI Chair, Ian Mitchell, said, “The CQI Board of Trustees have worked closely with Vincent over the past two years as Acting CEO and I am delighted that this will continue. His excellent pedigree in senior roles within the institute and his profile within the global quality and audit infrastructure will serve the CQI and the membership well as we continue to develop and promote the quality profession.”

Vincent said, “The incredible talent, aspiration and work of its volunteers, staff, members and partners has transformed the CQI over the past few years into a more confident, forward looking and influential professional body. I am delighted to be taking this role at such an exciting time, and look forward to building on this momentum especially as we look towards our centenary year in 2019 and beyond.”

Vincent replaces Simon Feary who left the organisation after a 23 years’ service. Ian Mitchell said, “We are enormously grateful to Simon for his service and contribution, especially his development of the Institute’s auditor training and certification business, IRCA, into a worldwide brand, and his leadership of the organisation through a challenging operating environment in recent times.”
