Membership regrades go online

The CQI now offer the options to apply for membership and to regrade existing membership online.

Hot on the heels of the improvements recently made to the Members’ section of the website, the CQI has now added the ability to apply for a new membership or regrade your existing membership online. Important changes have also been made to the process of applying for Chartered Member status (CQP MCQI).

The improvements, which were launched in December 2020, give you even more control over your membership experience. Members had reported that our previous processes were ‘clunky’ and not user friendly. Now, all CQI and IRCA application processes are online, although we will still accept applications under the old system until the end of February 2020.

The online processes are consistent with our new approach of only requiring members to enter data into our system once. So, for example, if you maintain your CPD records in the members’ section of our website, when you apply to regrade to a grade with a CPD as a requirement, your CPD information will be automatically populated into your application.

The changes to Chartered Membership applications place a much greater emphasis on demonstrating competence in practice, through the provision of evidenced case studies for each competence. There is also a new scoring matrix, which aims to ensure that both generalists and specialists find Chartered Membership attainable.

To find out more about the new processes, sign in to the Members’ area, go to ‘My Membership’ and then select ‘CQI Regrade’ or ‘IRCA Regrade’. You will find out which grade(s) you can apply for, and guidance is available to help you through the process.
