What inspired your journey into quality, and how has your cross-sector experience shaped your professional growth?

As a Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI) and an IRCA certified QMS Lead Auditor, I have been privileged to leverage my 17+ years of experience within the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) domain across diverse sectors, including Oil & Gas, Construction, and Design & Engineering. The journey toward becoming a Chartered Quality Professional has not only refined my technical skills but has also reinforced my commitment to advancing quality management as a strategic function within organisations.

What impact has chartered status had on your ability to lead and influence within the quality profession?

The combination of my Chartered Quality Professional status and Lead Auditor certification has enabled me to oversee quality processes with a high level of integrity, ensuring adherence to international standards and promoting stakeholder confidence.

As an IRCA Lead Auditor, I bring a rigorous and systematic approach to quality assurance, enabling me to conduct comprehensive audits that foster accountability, compliance, and continual improvement.

In addition to technical competencies, CQI membership has expanded my perspective on leadership and governance within quality management. It has also instilled a sense of responsibility toward nurturing future quality professionals.

In what ways have the CQI’s resources and professional network supported your development and day-to-day practice?

The CQI’s professional resources, training programmes, and commitment to continuous improvement have provided me with valuable insights and tools that I apply in my day-to-day responsibilities. My role includes auditing, compliance management, QMS implementation, inspection, and developing innovative solutions to complex quality challenges. These skills are continually honed through the CQI network, allowing me to contribute effectively to my organisation and to inspire a quality-centric culture.
