Obtaining your CSCS card with the CQI
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) recognises the Chartered Quality Institute as an approved professional body, meaning CQI members in the construction industry can use their membership to prove their skills and obtain a CSCS card.
Any current chartered quality professional (member or fellow) can now obtain a CSCS Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card. CQI affiliates or practitioners who have a level four qualification relevant to construction can apply for the Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card with an endorsement from the CQI.
What is a CSCS card?
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring the workforce is appropriately qualified, the card plays an integral part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites. Applicants for CSCS cards can use their professional body membership to prove their skills, rather than the achievement of an NVQ or other equivalent qualifications.

Gaining a CSCS card
CQI members working in construction can use their CQI membership to obtain a CSCS card on the following basis.
CSCS Professionally Qualified Person card
Eligible: All current CQI chartered members or fellows working in construction
- Contact us for a letter confirming your membership status using the form below.
- Then apply at Card Finder (cscsonline.uk.com) .
- Search for the Chartered Quality Institute or simply ‘quality’.
CSCS Academically Qualified Person card
Eligible: All current CQI affiliate or practitioner grade members working in construction who possess a construction related qualification at Level 4 or above.
- Contact us with details of your qualification using the form below.
- We will send you a letter confirming your membership and that you have a relevant qualification.
- Then apply at Card Finder (cscsonline.uk.com) .
- Search for the Chartered Quality Institute or simply ‘quality’.
