How to achieve recertification and CPD

Progress indicator

Stay ahead of the competition by setting your own goals and taking advantage of your member benefits.

IRCA certification lasts for five years. At the end of each five-year certification period, we ask that you update us on your experience and confirm that you are still active in the auditing profession. This process is key to maintaining the integrity of the IRCA register.

An important element of recertification is Continuing Professional Development (CPD). At the start of this year, we moved from an input- to an output-based approach. We want you to get the most out of completing CPD. Our new approach (which is based on Plan, Do, Check, Act) takes the emphasis away from accumulating points and hours, and puts it firmly on reflection and the impact your CPD activities have on your work.

CPD is no longer just about taking structured training courses, it is about undertaking the most appropriate learning activities for you, whether that be unstructured activities (private study) or structured programmes (transition training course). Visit our website for a breakdown of CPD activities you might wish to undertake and take advantage of your benefits like the e-library, Quality World magazine and LinkedIn groups to help you meet your overall objectives.
