Meet the International Quality Awards Quality Team of the Year winner and finalists 

Meet the three teams of quality professionals who have contributed most to their organisation through governance, assurance, improvement, leadership and context. 

Meet the winner: Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (Arden and GEM CSU)  

.

The Arden and GEM IT service desk is a multidisciplinary department - comprising approximately 100 staff - providing technical support to over 70,000 NHS employees across the UK. Established in 2022, the Quality Improvement Team has transformed the outputs and outcomes of the service. Creating clear and robust processes, boosting staff morale, and harnessing talent has led to increased retention and, ultimately, improved service delivery to their customers. 

We chose them as this dedicated and passionate quality team showcased their approachability and humanity, through compelling storytelling. Earning trust, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Judges' comments

Babcock International   

Babcock’s International’s One Facilities Quality Team has led on the ambitious futureproofing of Devonport dockyard in support of the Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD) defence programme. Accelerating the development of common standards and implementing ways of working were systematically, and proportionately, applied to projects of varying complexity and risk. The team has been empowered to drive continuous improvement initiatives leading to increased stakeholder and funder confidence in both progress and performance. 

Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security  

Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) provides over 100 identity, citizenship, and residency services to citizens of the UAE. They also regulate population data and issuing of Emirates ID cards in support of federal and local government authorities. The quality team has instilled a strong quality culture across the organisation, with a particular focus on developing employee capability, effective implementation of management systems, and a strong emphasis on sustainability.
