Winners announced for the 2018 International Quality Awards

With entrants from 24 countries, the 2018 International Quality Awards celebrated the quality profession across the globe.

More than 220 guests attended the ceremony on 21 November at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London, UK.

During the ceremony, before the winners were announced, Vincent Desmond, the CQI’s CEO, gave a speech to congratulate all the finalists of the nine awards categories. He said: “An excellent quality professional, an excellent quality team, are not marked out by their grasp of the quality management toolkit, but by their ability to work with others to make their organisation better: their ability to make quality everyone’s business.

“Humanity, creativity and determination are what differentiates our 22 finalists here today and I would like to offer my personal congratulations for your achievements: you are of course all exemplars, ambassadors and winners today.”

The IRCA Certificated Auditor of the Year award went to Arlene Ollano-Aguilar, IRCA Lead Auditor, Qatar, for employing a risk-based approach to rigorous auditing of high-profile projects in Qatar. The projects included the Dukhan Highway and the new Doha International Airport.

Ollano-Aguilar said: “This award means so much to me. It symbolises the very best person I can be.”
