Understanding data analysis that can lead to improved decisions and improvement actions.

This session will introduce the visual analysis, known to many as Statistical Process Control (SPC), which was pioneered by Dr Walter Shewhart back in the 1920’s, later promoted by Dr W Edwards Deming and more recently by Dr Donald J Wheeler.

The focus will be on the simple type known as an individuals chart and how it is used to find out if a process is stable and predictable as well as whether an exceptional event has occurred. It creates a picture of how a process or system changes over time.
