We have improved our recertification process to help you develop your knowledge and skills. Find out how to successfully recertify by reading our easy step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Receiving a reminder

Alternatively, you can see when you are due to recertify by viewing the 'My Details' page in the Members’ Area.
Step 2: Planning your CPD
Continuing professional development (CPD) shows you are committed to learning and improving. This is an essential part of your career and a fundamental part of your IRCA membership. As a result, we ask you to submit a CPD log and evidence of your audits when you recertify
Our approach to CPD has improved. We now ask our members to record CPD using a plan, do, check, act (PDCA) approach. This helps you to make sure you are reflecting on your goals and we suggest you set yourself achievable annual objectives. Don't forget to look at the CQI Competency Framework to gain a useful structure for your CPD objectives.

Step 3: Take the opportunity to regrade for free
When you recertify you have the opportunity to progress to a higher grade for free. Take a look at our grade requirements to make sure you are eligible to advance your grade, then tell us which grade you would like to recertify to.
Step 4: Fill in your audit experience
Only some of our members will need to submit their audit requirements. Find out if you need to submit yours here.
We suggest filling in this document as you complete each audit. In your audit log you will need to include information such as:
- The audit number and date
- The total time spent during the audit
- Your role in the audit
- The number of people in your team
- The type of audit
- Contact details for the auditee.
Step 5: Submitting your documents
You can either email your completed forms to [email protected] or send them by post to IRCA, Third floor, 90 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1EU, United Kingdom.
Step 6: Paying your annual fee
Our membership team will contact you three to four weeks after receiving your documents. At this point we will tell you if your documents have been accepted and, providing you are eligible to recertify, we will send you an invoice for your annual fee.
