What CQI membership means to me
I work in pre-production for a manufacturer in the nuclear industry, and I attend events of my local CQI branch and the nuclear special interest group.
I joined the CQI because I wanted to be affiliated with an institute that would give me the credentials to be able to say: yes, I am a quality professional. Having the CQI’s membership letters after my name is important.
Some companies don’t see quality as being as important as other areas, but it’s the foundation for any business – it supports cost, quality and delivery.
Exploring the CQI’s special interest groups and events has allowed me to reach out to subject matter experts in other areas. Having that support in your career is vital.
Since completing my CQI course in quality management, I’ve concentrated on events and networking. I’ve found some of the training courses and guest speakers to be very useful in building up my knowledge.
