Published: 3 May 2017

The international partnership between the CQI and the New Zealand Organisation for Quality (NZOQ) has been recognised during a presentation in London.

The CQI welcomed Tony Stephenson, CQP FCQI, director of the NZOQ, to its Furnival Street office on Tuesday, 2 May 2017.

Following a meeting with CQI executive director of policy Estelle Clark, Stephenson presented a glass trophy to the CQI in recognition of the significant support in establishing the NZOQ in 1977.

Speaking to a packed room of CQI staff, he detailed the historic relationship between the two organisations, explaining how the CQI has helped the NZOQ become a leading provider of quality and excellence in New Zealand.

The non-profit volunteer organisation celebrates its 40th birthday this year. It is dedicated to promoting the widespread adoption of the principles of quality management in New Zealand.

Estelle Clark, said: 'The CQI was delighted to host the visit from our friend, Tony Stephenson, CQP FCQI, and to receive his beautiful and generous gift.

'Many people at the CQI were unware of the role that our organisation played in the foundation of the New Zealand Organisation for Quality in 1977, so it was good to hear this story. Congratulations to the team at NZOQ and to all their members on the occasion of their 40th birthday.'
