World Quality Day 2017 — Your chance to demonstrate leadership
Progress indicator
Qualsys reveals its plans to recognise leadership in quality and the many forms that it takes.
Leadership is at the heart of the CQI’s Competency Framework and is the theme of this year’s World Quality Day on 9 November.
Quality professionals at all levels possess leadership skills that contribute to building and maintaining organisational excellence. There are hundreds of ways to spark engagement across your business in the lead up to World Quality Day and many organisations are already making plans.
Qualsys has revealed it will send cakes to people who have ‘baked excellence into the everyday’ by ‘making compliance a piece of cake’ for staff. “Make it easy’ is the bread and butter of Qualsys’ strategy,” says Emily Hill, digital marketing executive.
Behind this original idea is a serious message; one which recognises that leadership comes in many forms and is present at all levels within an organisation.
“It sends a message that we are all standing shoulder to shoulder.” Hill says. “It is an opportune time to share all your successes from the past year and share your vision for the next year.”
Qualsys wants to recognise teams and individuals who have demonstrated the characteristics of everyday leadership. Some exemplify quality coaches by finding ways to simplify quality and compliance in areas such as Qualsys’ sales process, and development of its quality management software app.
Others demonstrate the traits of quality advocates by showing vision and leadership that focuses on the bigger picture. Some are stakeholder advocates who show bravery by challenging the status quo, for example, when implementing an EQMS. Some act as quality motivators, testing various strategies and sharing success with their peers.
Senior leaders at Qualsys also aim to cultivate a culture of mentorship by creating champions for projects, providing new resources and investing in the continuing professional development of staff. The strategy forms a strong foundation for success and World Quality Day is a chance to recognise that.
