The Chartered Quality Institute announces appointment of Estelle Clark as executive director of policy

We are delighted to announce that Estelle Clark, CQP FCQI, is the new executive director of policy at the CQI. Previously head of profession, Clark’s new role forms an essential part of the CQI’s strategy and ensures the Institute is the leading voice on governance, assurance and improvement.

Clark will be speaking to policymakers and business leaders to ensure the CQI and our message is heard loud and clear in debates. She told Quality World Magazine: “I am going to ensure that we are recognised as an important contributor in conversations about governance, assurance and improvement; not only influencing the debate started by others but setting the agenda and leading the way.”

Clark has been one of the leading ambassadors in the quality profession for years. She is chairman of the Technical and Advisory Board of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), a member of the Policy Advisory Council of the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) and a steward and director at hydrogen car start-up Riversimple. She also acts as a judge for several quality and innovation awards.

In the past, Clark was chair of the CQI and group director of safety and business assurance for Lloyd’s Register. She has also held senior executive roles at ABB Alstom Power, Fujitsu and the UK Financial Ombudsman Service.

Vincent Desmond, CQI acting chief executive, said: “Estelle’s expertise and experience will reinforce the CQI’s leadership within the quality management discipline and will be key to accelerating our promotion of the quality profession by working closely with our expert members and strategic partners.”
