Centenary

The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) proudly celebrated its centenary in 2019. From our origins in 1919 as the Technical Inspection Institute, the CQI is now a thriving professional body with a royal charter to promote quality management and a global membership of approx. 20,000 in over 100 countries. The story of the CQI is of its members, volunteers and partners who have helped organisations in the public, private and non-profit sectors to improve the way they deliver products and services for customers. It’s also a story of how quality management has sustained and improved organisational performance and contributed to improving the quality of life over the past 100 years.
