Introducing Typical Competence Profiles – Your Pathway to Success

Typical Competence Profiles and Career Pathways Map

Typical Competence Profiles and Career Pathways Map, are designed to help you navigate your career in quality and explore the competence required to discover, explore, and achieve your ambitions.

What is the Career Pathways Map?

The Career Pathways Map provides a framework describing potential routes into and through careers in quality.

The Map captures key roles and specialisms undertaken by quality professionals. Pathways are not fixed, nor are they a recipe to be followed, but they indicate how different roles relate to each other in a structure which can help quality professionals identify opportunities for vertical and horizontal career progression.

What are the Typical Competence Profiles?

The Career Pathways Map includes six core Typical Competence Profiles (TCP). These profiles depict the typical knowledge, skills, and behaviours described in the CQI Profession Map of common quality role types. These profiles provide specific comparators or benchmarks of competence to help individuals understand where they are now, and to create targeted professional development plans taking them to the next stage in their quality career.
