CQI Healthcare Networking Group
The Healthcare Networking Group has been established to discuss and inform on all aspects of Quality Management in a Healthcare setting. This group will discuss the design and implementation of a Quality Management System in compliance with BS ISO 7101:2023.
Background
Currently the activity of quality in healthcare settings consists mainly of Quality Improvement Projects and Patient Safety Initiatives. This activity could achieve much more added value if managed from within a Management System.
Scope
The Healthcare Special Interest Group has been established to discuss and inform on all aspects of Quality Management in a Healthcare setting. In 2023 ISO published a new standard, BS ISO 7101:2023 – Healthcare organisation management – Management systems for quality in healthcare organisations – Requirements. This SIG will discuss the design and implementation of a Quality Management System in compliance with this standard.
We will hold regular webinars and discussions to share best practice and guidance with members in the healthcare industry and beyond. We'll also share insights from a current design and implementation project of ISO 7101: 2023 in the first NHS Trust to implement this standard. This trust is currently at the QMS design stage and we aim to report on the hurdles and successes encountered during this design and implementation stage within this group.
