Who is making the transition?

Last month we completed a survey of IRCA auditors, asking your plans for making the transition to the revised ISO standards, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

We believe that the revisions are an improvement on their predecessors and therefore transition is to the benefit of auditors, quality professionals and organisations using them.

When the standards were released we adopted a robust position in our requirements for IRCA auditors of QMS and EMS to transition to the 2015 versions of the standards.

All IRCA Certificated QMS and EMS auditors are required to successfully complete IRCA Certified Transition Training before 1 September 2018.

Our survey asked you if you had made the transition yet. Of those who completed the survey, 60 per cent have completed IRCA Certified Transition Training.

Many of you who have completed IRCA Certified Transition Training stressed the importance of maintaining your IRCA registration. Many of you said completing the transition training will increase your employability. If you are among these auditors then you are ahead of the rest on making the transition, while others risk being left behind.

Of those of you who have not yet taken the training, 60 per cent plan to take the training before the deadline and 40 per cent do not.

Those of you planning to complete your training over the coming year told us you believe IRCA Certified Transition Training is the best training available and would increase your employability as it is recognised by employers.
